In the classic recipe for this preparation you will use the pumpkin as a topping for the spaghetti. And we say spaghetti, but you could easily know them as noodles or any other name. The interesting thing is the combination of flavors and how the ingredients blend in a delicious way.


  • Spaghetti (300 g)
  • 1 large onion
  • 3 cups of peeled pumpkin (600 g)
  • 1 cup of liquid cream (250 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil (30 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons of nutmeg (30 g)
  • 1 tablespoon of salt (15 g)
  • 1 tablespoon of ground black pepper (15 g)
  • 2 cups of Parmesan cheese (optional) (200 g)


  1. Add a drizzle of olive oil to the pan and add the onion cut into julienne or slices and sauté over medium heat with a little salt.
  2. Then add the peeled, seeded squash to the skillet with the onion. Cook until soft and blended.
  3. From time to time you should stir a little to get a more homogeneous and uniform mixture.
  4. Meanwhile, it is time to place the spaghetti in a pot with water, oil and salt and let them cook.
  5. Finally, add the cream to the pan and stir with a little cheese.
  6. When the spaghetti is ready, add with the other ingredients and cook for 2 more minutes.

Spaghetti recipe with pumpkin and mushrooms

You will make this variation of the original recipe much more easily and fluently than the first. What’s more, if you have a little more time, you can add a little pesto and chicken fillets. However, by preparing it with pumpkin and mushrooms, you will have an unbeatable and very nutritious recipe.

  • 200 g spaghetti
  • 3 chicken fillets
  • 2 cups of chopped pumpkin (400 g)
  • ½ cup of mushrooms (100 g)
  • 2 sprigs of broccoli
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 garlic cloves without skin
  • 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil (30 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon of salt (15 g)
  • ¼ cup of white wine (62 ml)


  1. Steam both the squash and broccoli.
  2. Then, in a frying pan, brown the julienned onion  along with the garlic cloves.
  3. Add the mushrooms, once the onion is transparent. Sauté everything together for 1 minute. Don’t forget the salt.
  4. At the same time, place the chicken fillets on a griddle and grill them. Then chop them up and add them to the pan.
  5. In the same way with the pumpkin and broccoli but chopped.
  6. Finally, add the touch of white wine to the pan with all the ingredients together and mix for 2 minutes. This will give it a special touch of flavor.
  7. Then remove, let it cool and enjoy.
